We need as many legal professionals as possible to sign this petition, to demonstrate that those most knowledgeable about the law consider the legal process to have been inadequate in this case, and that executing Troy Davis amid persistent doubts about his guilt would be a grave injustice.
Troy Anthony Davis has been scheduled to be executed three times and three times his execution has been stayed amid doubts concerning the impact of numerous witness recantations and new evidence against another suspect. Following an evidentiary hearing in federal court in June 2010, a federal judge ruled that Davis had not clearly established his innocence, and the U.S. Supreme Court has declined to consider an appeal of that ruling. Yet significant questions remain about the integrity of Davis' conviction. Please sign on to the letter below urging the State Board of Pardons and Paroles to prevent the execution of Troy Davis.
Please send your endorsement as soon as possible. Time is of the essence. Thank you for your support!
