Freedom of movement is a human right. I support Saudi women driving their way to freedom.
Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world in which women are not allowed to drive. At present women in Saudi Arabia are dependent on men to carry out simple daily tasks requiring transport. Lifting the ban would allow women to drive to work or university and enable mothers to take their children to school.
We urge the government to issue a decree to lift the ban on women driving. Scores of women have already taken to the streets of the Kingdom driving their cars, filming and uploading their videos on to YouTube -- despite the risk of arrest and harassment. These brave women, and the world, deserve to know there is a global movement standing behind their campaign for human rights.
